$200M Real Estate Project for Downtown Sarasota PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 07 June 2006

Pineapple Square is what the $200 million residential and retail project was named. The project looks like it will be a fruitful addition to downtown Sarasota.

The project for Pineapple Square call for 276 condominium residences, 30 to 40 new retail shops, restaurants and more than 1,000 parking spaces, including more than 500 for public parking.

Isaac Group Holdings LLC, of Bryan, Ohio, will be the developer of the project. However, the company declined to comment on any specific retail chains planned for Pineapple Square, which has been approved by the Sarasota City Commission.

The final phase of the project is scheduled for completion in early 2010 and would include 20,000 square feet of retail, 119 residential units and 255 private parking spaces.

Sarasota City Manager Mike McNees said the project fits in with the overall vision for downtown Sarasota. He said that two other large-scale retail and residential projects are also being proposed for downtown Sarasota by other developers. However, of the three projects, the Sarasota City Commission has formally approved only Pineapple Square.
