Alitalia to Sell Real Estate PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 29 June 2006
Alitalia SpA anounced its plans of selling various real estate assets very shortly, confirming newspaper reports this morning, but did not confirm a 120 mln eur value for the assets.

Alitalia is currently negotiating the sale with a group of businessmen in the sector after another group including Aeroporti di Roma unexplicably pulled out of talks on the sale. The company confirms that since 2002 it has been looking to sell real estate, in which it has always looked to involve Aeroporti di Roma.

However, the negotiation broke down because of problems over the use to which some of the buildings were to be used for. Alitalia officials declined to comment on reports the sale would net a 60 mln eur gain for the first half results, nor to comment on a report Alitalia made a second quarter operating loss.
